'I Got It from My Mama' hitmaker will.i.am's getting an honorary award at the CLIO Award Ceremony in New York on May 15.
As you well know, the awards aim to highlight "the work and talent of those who push the boundaries of creativity in advertising and beyond".
This is all very well, but what does CLIO Awards executive director Nicole Purcell have to say about it all?
"will.i.am has not only mastered music but has transcended his art form, extending his boundless creativity into areas like politics, technology and philanthropy," she mused in a statement that Billboard copied and pasted into this article.
"He embodies all of the values the CLIOs represent by inspiring change and encouraging us to think differently."
Sure.
