Mariah Carey wasn't really a fan of her time as a judge on American Idol to be honest.
Asked by a DJ on Hot 97 if she enjoyed her time on the panel with good friend Nicki Minaj, she replied:
"No. Honestly I hated it. I was the first person signed on and I don't want to say anything that's going to, heaven forbid, look like I'm saying anything negative, but I thought it was going to be a three person panel."
Amazing.
"They [the American Idol producers] gave me a nice dangling monetary moment and I thought 'oh okay, this isn't a big deal'. But it was like going to work everyday in hell with Satan. Nah, just playing."
Of course.
She went on: "I was disappointed. I loved the contestants and it was disappointing when they would not put certain people through for political reasons."
Asked when her new album might see the light of day she said February next year because that's when people want to hear "the break-up songs, the I‑hate-you-love-songs, the I‑used-to-love-you-and-I-can-get-over-it-no-matter-what-I-do songs".
