'Why Me?' hitmakers PJ & Duncan will host next year's Brit Awards, it's been announced.
The duo — who 'scored' fourteen (!) Top 20 hits between 1994 and 2013 culminating in the ludicrous reappearance of 'Let's Get Ready To Rhumble' last year — first hosted the ceremony way back in the halcyon days of 2001.
How times have changed. But at the same time, how times have stayed the same.
Anyway what do the partners in crime, they'll never to time, a sentence for them has to end in a rhyme have to say about it all?
"We're really excited to be hosting the BRITs again next year, it is undoubtedly the biggest night in the British music calendar. We're especially excited now we're No.1 recording artists ourselves. We'll be offering our advice to the fledgling pop stars backstage as to how to have a No.1 hit, as long as they're prepared to wait 19 years for their records to top the chart like ours did!"
'Hit' and 'did' — that sentence, for them, quite literally does almost end in a rhyme.
And how about a word or two from your friend and ours, Brits Chairman Max Lousada?
“Ant & Dec are two of the most popular TV broadcasters this country has ever produced [POOR SAM AND MARK] and it’s a real honour to have them take centre stage once again to host the BRITs. It’s great that these two pillars of British TV will be part of a night about celebrating icons in British music.”
Two pretty short pillars but that's by the by.
The Brit Awards take place on February 25.
