This is so obvious it could be an Erasure lyric: DJ Calvin Harris should immediately scrap all and any plans to release his debut album and should instead release a CONCEPT ALBUM.
It will be called 'Acceptable In The 20th Century' and it will be the same song performed in various musical styles pertinent to various decades.
Here, exclusively, is the tracklisting.
2. 'Acceptable In The 10s'
3. 'Acceptable In The 20s'
4. 'Acceptable In The 30s'
5. 'Acceptable In The 40s'
6. 'Acceptable In The 50s'
7. 'Acceptable In The 60s'
8. 'Acceptable In The 70s'
9. 'Acceptable In The 80s'
10. 'Acceptable In The 90s'
Skiffle! Rock 'n' roll! Punk! Britpop! Er… Well basically you could get the idea. There could also be a good 'press angle' on it because "I've got love for you if you were born in the 1910s" almost certainly comes with certain necrophiliac undertones (apologies to any viewers in their 90s), which would probably get DJ Calvin in Joe Mott's column. And there could be a bonus track called 'Acceptable In The 2000s' which would probably be an emo rework or something.
That is what should happen and the matter is not really open for debate.
