will.i.am has explained his lack of dancing

will.i.am has had a bit of a chitchat about how he no longer likes to dance during gigs.

In a bril­liantly baffling interview to promote a forth­com­ing MTV special, i.am said that the reason he no longer danced as much was that he was in com­pet­i­tion with himself. As in, the will.i.am from the past.

Here he is to explain.

"I like to allow the old me to have the crown somewhere, because me versus the old me — I'm a better busi­ness­man now than when I was 22, I'm a better producer than I was when I was 23, so I got to let the old me beat me somewhere."

Fergie, possibly bored of hearing this story for the fiftieth time, had her own view on it all. "The pants got tighter," she mused.

In other news, will.i.am also referred to 'My Humps' as not his best work lyrically.
