Total album sales in the UK last week were the lowest in 16 years, with the sales for the Number One the lowest in 18, according to Music Week.
Emeli Sandé's 'Our Version Of Events' sold only 13,430 copies as it rose from Number 3 to the top spot, the worst figure since Ace Of Base's'Happy Nation' sold only 12,042 in June 1994.
To be fair to Emeli though, that had both 'All That She Wants' and 'The Sign' on it, so in selling more you could say she's done quite well.
The overall figure was 1,312,971, 2.65% lower than last week and the lowest weekly total since June 1996 when, fact fans, only 1,277,279 albums were sold.
You should probably expect this story to reappear every week until Adele releases a new album.
