One of the songwriting revelations of the year also just happens to be one of the popstarring revelations of the year. But enough about Charli XCX, because Tove Lo had a great 2014 too.
Tove hasn't released her debut album in the UK yet, because her record label hates us, but many of its tracks…
…are completely…
…brilliant. And even if you can't listen to the album (let's just pretend for a minute that anyone remotely interested in the LP didn't illegally download it a month ago) you can still listen to the 'Truth Serum' EP, which popped up over the summer.
In addition to that, Tove delivered a typically bold and atmospheric track for the Lorde-curated Hunger Games soundtrack album.
She also did her best to salvage an offensively generic EDM track, and this year — as well as writing for other artists as part of Max Martin's team — was responsible for some of this Saturidicubanger.
What does 2015 hold? Don't fucking ask us we're not psychic.
