While we were looking for YouTube embed codes to accompany MNEK'S songs of the year blog, we noticed that Miley Cyrus' 'We Can't Stop' video was sitting at 299,596,375 views.
It's gone up to 299,633,449 in the last half hour or so, meaning that it will probably hit 300,000,000 later today.
300,000,000 is a pretty big number, isn't it?
Mind you 382,222,226 is a bigger number and 'Wrecking Ball' has already hit that figure despite having been out for less time, but let's not detract from what is definitely a very special day for 'We Can't Stop' — a video from a more innocent time in Miley's career. A time before hammers were licked, undercrackers were discarded and oversized building demolition contraptions were mounted. A time when it was possible to catch the ears and eyes of music fans with nothing more than a great tune, spanking, twerking, severed fingers, simulated masturbation, girl-on-girl wrestling, shirtless men, smoke billowing from genital areas and a tiny bit of product placement.
We're suddenly feeling all nostalgic. Let's have another look at 'We Can't Stop', and help send it on its way to 300,000,000 views.
(Whichever way you look at it, Beats got their money's worth.)
