So The Knocks sent us this track called 'Make It Better' a month or so ago. We were immediately taken with its whistly ebulience.
"THIS IS VERY GOOD" was our summary the tune.
And we were right. It's amazing. In fact if anything we underestimated its amazingness. We've been listening to it about twice per day recently and it gives a little bit more every time. Elsewhere it seems to be accepted fact that Katy Perry's 'California Gurls' is the unofficial summer song of summer 2010, but here at Popjustice HQ 'Make It Better' takes the prize.
We actually hate summer and the sooner it's autumn — officially the best season in the history of seasons — the better. Actually 'Make It Better' might make even more sense in the autumn. It has a sort of 'oh well that was that, pack up the barbecue, next stop Christmas' wistfulness apparently experienced by people who do actually enjoy summer and forced upon the rest of us as a result.
Has it got birds tweeting in it? YES IT HAS.
Anyway 'Make It Better' is coming out through Neon Gold so when you listen to this clip you can do so in full confidence that you are listening to a song that is V GOOD but also HIGHLY CREDIBLE.
Vocals, if you are interested in such things (and let's be honest who doesn't like a bit of a sing-song) come courtesy of Archeo Price, who is amazing independently of The Knocks and a little bit more amazing when doing stuff with them.
