Vida are a girlband mentored by Oritsé from JLS, so they're off on tour with the band starting tonight. One of them is called Che3kz (??!). They've been working with MNEK (hasn't everyone) and Cutfather and Ali Tennant. You've probably seen them floating around in the showbiz circles in which certain types of girlbands sometimes circulate on 'getting their faces out there'-type missions.
We didn't have very high hopes but we like the chorus of their first single, 'Boombox'.
We asked them some questions via email. Here's how they answered three of them.
THE THREE QUESTIONS WE ASKED VIDA VIA EMAIL
1. What is the point of what you do?
Jade: "To give people like yourself a job and something to be interested in.…lol. On a more serious note, to enjoy life, doing what we do!! And to inspire young people to achieve what they want to acheive!"
2. What does Oritsé do for you other than provide a useful hook for showbiz columnists needing to fill small bits of their pages?
V:Vee: "As well as hooking us up with free Nandos with his Nandos card, Oritse is a fantastic mentor!!"
3. You've supported Ed Sheeran. Is your music as boring as his?
AJ: "We would be over the moon to achieve the accolades that Ed Sheeran has achieved and if that makes us boring, fill your boots!"
So there you go.
If you see them with JLS, let us know what you thought. We'd be prepared to tolerate anything upwards of three times as good as Parade.
