We're trying very hard — harder than some — not to slip into full on full-on "GAGA LOL" moron mode every time she opens her mouth but footage like this MTV press conference is definitely worthy of attention, if not a round of applause. Still not quite as layered as it thinks it is but still about five times as clever as its nearest competitor, Gaga's campaign makes more and more sense, and becomes more and more real (or, to cynics, more and more 'convincing'), as the weeks tick by. Gaga's got a brick on the accelerator pedal while she does something unspeakable with a model on the back seat. At the very least this latest look seems like a solid attempt at living Madonna's career on fast forward — Gaga's already covered most of the signature elements of the entire 'Immaculate Collection' era and she's not even finished promoting her first album. She'll have thrown herself off a Shetland pony by the end of the summer, mark our words…
