There's going to be a Christmas Day Top Of The Pops, meaning that years of tradition involving arguing with parents over exactly when Christmas lunch will be finished can continue. For the time being at least. And with Fearne Cotton.
The fact that the BBC can find time on Christmas Day — one of the most important days of the televisual calendar — for TOTP makes it all the more peculiar that it cannot find half an hour a week on any of its channels for a weekly show, but we are sure they know what they are doing.
In other news, the Top Of The Pops website has today been replaced by something called The Radio 1 Chart Blog. In the last couple of year the original TOTP site was the only part of the TOTP 'brand' to really do its job properly so it is sad to see it go. :(
