BELGIUM V ALGERIA

Dimitri Vegas & Martin Garrix & Like Mike — ‘Tremor (Sensation 2014 Anthem)’
“On the field the Belgians should be one of the more exciting teams of the tournament, so it's a shame this song by a squad of superstar DJs has none of their flair. 'Tremor' is generic EDM at its most boring. The hook is big but you're sick of it 60 seconds in, and by two and a half minutes you can take no more. Belgian brothers Dimitri and Mike are the sixth best DJs on the planet yet still need to rope in Dutchman labelmate Martin Garrix for help. By rights Diplo should also take some credit since it sounds so similar to his build-drop-LOUD-horns trademark sound, except instead of a Major Lazer style dancehall MC over the hook these three opt for a bloke saying "three, two, one, GO!". The video is just as dull, apart from an occasional arse-shake (not by the DJs). Eden Hazard will be ashamed.”
Faudel — ‘Nebghik'

“There are no music charts in Algeria, but even though it's a few years old this is still a favourite song of the nation. For those who don't exactly listen to a lot of North African or Middle Eastern music it will remind you of Holly Valance's 'Kiss Kiss' (which was a rework of a Turkish track). Like most of the national squad baby-faced Faudel was actually born in France, which explains why he sings 'Je t'aime' about five million times on this song. It's a winner though because the video features the young lad chasing an impossibly attractive woman around in his school uniform. Luckily for her she escapes the little pest."
