The main problem with the song, the video, the famliar, semi-'attitude' semi-smug "I am a popstar" facial expression of which these young female actress/songstrels are so fond is that the whole package contains too few cliches. The whole thing
just takes too many chances. Perhaps it would be better if it was less avant garde and somehow found a way to
patronise its audience a little more. Surely there is some way it could have had a bit more of a whiff of 'will
this do' about it.
The crime, readers, is that it feels as if everybody involved just
cares too much.
