A Madonna biopic entitled — wait for it — Blond Ambition has been picked up by Universal, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The biopic has been written by Elyse Hollander (her script topped the 2016 Black List of most-liked unproduced screenplays), and will be produced by Michael De Luca (who produced your mum's favourite film, Fifty Shades Of Grey) alongside Brett Ratner's RatPac Entertainment.
Apparently the story is set in early 1980s New York and follows Madonna making her first album and struggling to get famous etc etc and so on.
It's not clear when it will be released but some point in the future, rather than the past, seems likely, and if the screenplay is as imaginative as the title we're really in for a treat.
