It's end of year list time again folks and if you'd like to take a somewhat obscured and abstracted look at the pop year that was then you've come to the right place.
In news that will surprise absolutely nobody, Adele's '21' and 'Rolling in the Deep' were declared iTunes Rewind's biggest-selling UK album and single this year (and in the case of '21', the biggest-selling of the 21st Century). The list also named her Artist of the Year and 'Someone Like You' as Song of the Year. OH JUST GIVE HER ALL THE BLOODY AWARDS SO WE CAN JUST GO HOME.
Meanwhile, Laura Marling's snorefest 'A Creature I Don't Know' was awarded Album of the Year while 'enfant unlistenable' of the New Boring movement Ed 'Ed' Sheeran was named New Artist of the Year by a judging panel who clearly know how to get the party started.
Rounding off the list of audio atrocities is LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' which, in a year where 'Beat of My Drum' was available for sale, was the UK's most downloaded single. Christ.
