Barack Obama has announced that he and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak are both fans of Janelle Monae.
Monae performed at an Obama rally in Chicago over the weekend and the President took to the podium to show his approval.
He said: “I want to thank Janelle Monae for her wonderful performance. We had [Janelle] at a state dinner and the Korean President and his whole family, they were moving around. Oh, they loved it.”
Janelle tweeted her support for the incumbent, saying: “First show of the year is dedicated to four more years of positive change.”
In other world leaders liking pop music news, David Cameron said last week that he is a fan of Lana Del Rey but that his childen preferred the “appalling” Bruno Mars and Katy Perry who were “beginning to infect my iPod”.
