Bad news for fans of primetime tedium: Ed Sheeran doesn't want to be a TV talent show judge.
Having a chat to BBC Newsbeat, the One Direction tunesmith said: "I want to tour, I want to write and I want to record. I don't want to be a talent show judge."
"Who am I to tell someone if they can't live their dream?"
Obviously with Rylan in mind, and sort of doing the judging thing anyway, he added: "Half the people on those shows can sing, and half should probably do something else."
"It's not my job to crush someone's dreams if I don't think they were good enough."
So, what is your job, Ed?
"My job is to create music."
Funny how he does so many interviews isn't it, if that's not his job. OH WELL!
