Ed Sheeran has broken a record and entered the US album chart.

Pop pinup Ed Sheeran has broken some sort of US record by for a high debut by a UK male, entering the US album chart at Number 5.

The thrilling news was announced by his record company on Twitter.

Upon release, the ludicrously-titled "+" 'zoomed' straight to the top of the US iTunes chart.

At least America can now share the burden.
