Part-time boremonger Emeli Sandé has 'revealed' how much she was paid for her performance at Friday's Olympic Opening Ceremony.
"I got paid £1 for my work," she told the Evening Standard. "It’s there in print and I know because I signed the contract myself. Mind you, I haven’t received anything yet!"
Not that she's even contemplating not getting it.
"When I do [get the money], though, that £1 will be truly special. Part of what made the whole event so special was the volunteers who were paid nothing and even paid for their own accommodation. It shows how important art is."
To put it another way, Emeli was paid infinitely more than most of the other performers. ONE RULE FOR THEM, ANOTHER FOR THE REST OF US.
