George Michael is quite okay with the songs he sang at the Olympics Closing Ceremony.
The 'Miss Sarajevo' hitmaker sent some words through his spokesperson (quoted here) about plugging his new effort singing 'White Light', saying: "George wanted to perform his new single because it reflected everything he has been through in the last year. The song is a celebration of being alive because he was so close to death last year. It was his decision to perform a song from the past and song for the present."
"He wanted to perform it for fans…it seemed quite appropriate," the spokesperson went on to explain, 'He doesn't need to plug his new single — it was just nice for him to sing it."
Looking at the iTunes chart today we'd suggest that plugging his new single is something George Michael very much does need to do, but 'oh well'.
