Jay‑Z performed for Beyoncé and Liza at Carnegie Hall last night

  • February 7, 2012
  • Mikey

Jay‑Z performed a charity 'gig' at Carnegie Hall last night in aid of his Shawn Carter Foundation.

Jay, dressed in a tuxedo and backed by a full orchestra, became one of a handful of hip-hop acts including Wycleff Jean to have played at the venue.

Nas and Alicia Keys joined the rapper on stage to perform a slew of New York themed hits to celebrate the New York Giants winning the Super Bowl.

The trio sang 'Empire State of Mind' and 'New York State of Mind', which probably dragged on a bit to be honest.

The benefit gig was attended by musical 'luminaries' and foundation donors like Liza Minelli and Beyoncé, who were treated to the first live performance of 'Glory'. Controversially, Blue Ivy did not show up to perform her part.

You can watch clips from the concert on Vibe.
