It looks like we might have lost another popstar to jazz. :(
Having a bit of a chat with The Telegraph, Jessie Ware noted: "My management would kill me for saying this, but at some point, if it all goes well, I would love to do an album of Gershwin and Cole Porter songs – because that’s the music that really made me want to be a singer."
Bloody hell.
"And I would love to be able to do a concert of jazz standards."
Mind you, hopefully she'll be busy for all that nonsense, especially after the Mercury Music Prize, not that she's allowing herself to get too excited about that.
"I don’t feel the Mercury nomination is about stardom though. It’s just a real acknowledgment of celebrating the album," she explained. "But all this anticipation… it’s about being realistic. It’s wonderful and everything but you don’t allow yourself to dream of ever winning such a prestigious award as a Mercury. You never know when it’s going to end. I am just trying to keep it real."
We all are Jessie. We all are.
