Joe Jonas reckons the 'artists' he 'mentors' on new US talent show The Next can relate to him because he knows "what it's like to be dropped by a record label".
:(
The premise of the show — which also features Nelly (amazing) and Gloria Estefan (amazing) — is that the 'mentors' find talent all over America and then, er, move in with them for three days to help prepare them for 'stardom'.
"We're really jumping into these people's lives, whatever they do," he enthused (as quoted here). "Say they work at a restaurant, I'll be showing up at the restaurant and working with them on music and trying to get to sell food."
That's not all: "I've been babysitting 15 kids, there's Gloria Estefan riding tractors — really bizarre situations to be thrown in to but it makes for great television and there's a lot of heartfelt stories."
