Katy Perry is 2012's Woman of the Year according to Billboard.
The 'Tommie Sunshine's Megasix Smash-Up' hitmaker will receive the accolade at the launch of Billboard's Women in Music Power Players list on November 30 in New York.
The award is basically a celebration of the fact that Perry's 'Teenage Dream' album 'scored' five Number One singles on the Hot 100 chart, has sold 2.5 millions copies in the US alone and has stayed in the album chart for 100 weeks (!).
In total, Perry has sold 48m single downloads in five years, which is literally a lot.
Previous winners of this title include Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Fergie (!!), so she's in pretty good company.
