Indonesian police have hinted that they may not issue a work permit for pagan pop princess Lady Gaga's concert on June 3.
Following complaints from Indonesia's LOL-a-minute Islamic Defenders Front, a police spokesman for Jakarta's local law enforcers told the Jakarta Globe: "The concert permit is issued by the National Police but the Jakarta Police doesn’t recommend the concert be held."
24-hour-party-people Muslim Defenders Team warned: "Whether you like it or not, Lady Gaga teaches to worship the devil. That goes against the teachings of any religion. We don’t approve of that."
Speaking on behalf of the heretic Gaga, presumably in tongues, concert promoter Michael Russi stated: "Lady Gaga is a Catholic and she has many charitable works, how could she be a devil worshiper?"
Putting some rational perspective on the conflict, FPI’s leader Salim Alatas declared: "We will stop her from setting foot on our land. She had better not dare spread her satanic faith in this country. Her style is vulgar. Her sexual and indecent clothes will destroy our children’s sense of morality. She’s very dangerous." His pal Rizieq Syihab accused Gaga of "planning to build Lucifer’s kingdom in Indonesia."
Look we think the structure of 'Americano' leaves a lot to be desired too, Rizieq, but that's taking things too far.
