Animal lover and part-time popstar Leona Lewis was celebrating yesterday after MPs in Britain agreed a ban on the use of wild animals in circuses.
Lewis tweeted her joy after hearing that a bill had been passed in the Commons that would see a ban in place as of July next year.
She tweeted at Hackney MP Diane Abbott: "Such incredible news today! thanks @hackneyabbott for supporting the circus animal ban! U have made the difference!". She went on to tweet: "We did it! We did it! I'm just so happy thank u all for supporting the ban our voices were heard!"
However, The Guardian are reporting that the Government are not bound by law to change the current regulations.
At the time of writing, Leona has yet to tweet a response, preferring instead to ask her fans to guess how long it's taken her to come up with a question to ask her fans. The winner gets a follow for one week only. THAT'S NOT WHAT TWITTER WAS INVENTED FOR.
