Omnipresent chanteuse Mariah Carey will open the World Music Awards and collect the Pop Icon Award, it's been announced.
The awards, which take place on May 27 in Monte Carlo, last honoured the 'You're Mine (Eternal)' hitmaker back in 2003 when she won the Diamond Award for selling over 100m copies of her albums worldwide.
As the blurb on their official website states, things have stepped up a notch now:
"Mariah will receive the Pop Icon Award at this year's World Music Awards. She has sold over 200m albums and is the recording artist with the most number one singles in America."
So there we go.
