Mariah Carey has said that she's not trying to follow any specific trends ('EDM', basically) on her untitled new album.
"I'm collaborating with a lot of my favorite people but the main thing is [that] I'm not trying to follow any particular trend," she said during a media conference call thing (as quoted here).
"I want it to be well received. I want to stay true to myself and the music that I love and make the fans happy."
That's what we all want, Mariah.
Mind you, the 'Didn't Mean To Turn You On' chanteuse is a bit sad about the current state of her beloved R&B: "It would be incredible if we can bring back the days where R&B songs didn't have to cross over. It makes me sad that there are so many talented R&B artists that don't get the chance that they should."
She's also debuted her new single 'Triumphant (Get 'Em)', which you can listen to below.
