X Factor USA winner Melanie Amaro has signed her promised $5m record contract with LA Reid's Epic Records.
The 19-year-old, who was originally sent home at Simon Cowell's Judge's House, will now work with her mentor on her first release. "I am so excited to start recording my debut album for Epic under the guidance of LA and Simon," she said in a statement. "This is a dream come true for me."
Part of that 'dream come true' will include featuring in an advertisement for show sponsor Pepsi, to be aired during the Super Bowl.
Her new boss Reid said in a press statement: "I joined The X Factor to be able to discover undeniable talent such as Melanie", adding: "I believe we have only scratched the surface on uncovering her talent and her inevitable journey to super-stardom."
Speaking about what we can expect from her debut album Amaro 'teased' "I think for my first record I just want to do a R&B and pop or pop-soul, or just music that embodies it".
