World Peace was in doubt this morning after MIA made an "obscene gesture" to a billion Super Bowl viewers during Madonna's half-time performance.
Super Bowl broadcaster NBC have apologised for the 'scandal' saying MIA's middle finger was "completely inappropriate, very disappointing, and we apologize to our fans".
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the TV station blamed the slip-up on a "failure in NBC's delay system", which would have obscured the obscenity and preserved American decency.
The delay system did in fact blur the performance one second after the event — well done everyone — which you can watch with parental supervision from 7:40 here.
