THIS IS NOT A DRILL: One Direction say they’re “lucky” to have had input on their debut album and want their music to sound “authentic”.
Speaking on This Morning, Liam said: “We’re lucky to have had quite a lot of control.”
He added that the group put their own stamp on ‘Up All Night’, calling it “our own sort of music” and not just “singing someone else’s songs”.
The band have three co-writes on the album, ‘Taken’, ‘Everything About You’ and ‘Same Mistakes’, with Louis calling the tracks a marriage of their collective pop influences.
“We all bring something different to the band in our musical tastes and we try and put that together," he explained.
