Increasingly lazy singer of song Rihanna will be awarded the first ever Icon Award at this month's American Music Awards, it's been announced.
"The first-ever Icon Award was created to honor an artist whose body of work has made a profound influence over pop music on a global level," show producer Larry Klein said (as quoted here).
"Rihanna's iconic and innovative sound has enabled her to become one of the most influential and bestselling artists of all time."
You can't really argue with that can you.
The 'Right Now' hitmaker will also perform at the event on November 24 and is also up for four awards including artist of the year.
