One-time Eurovision auditionee Rita Ora dropped out because "it wasn’t the right thing".
The course of pop history could have been entirely altered when Rita tried out when she was 17, with Jade Ewen eventually representing the UK that year.
"I didn’t have a record deal, I wasn’t signed and I got scared. I just wanted to do anything," recounts Rita to The Daily Record. "I went in for the Eurovision Song Contest and did my first audition. It all went great."
Despite saying that she's "not knocking it", the would-be 'It's My Time' hitmaker felt that she was "a real musician and a songwriter" so pulled out of the process.
"It had gone so well that I'm sure something might have come of it."
Well yes — you could have been the sixth Sugababe, Rita.
