Performance art enabler Sia was awarded the songwriter of the year award at last night's APRA Awards.
(APRA stands for Australasian Performing Right Association, obviously.)
The award — previously won by the likes of Savage Garden, Gotye and Jet — was in recognition of the fact that she's basically written most of the songs in the charts and it's actually the second consecutive year she's 'scooped' the honour, a feat never achieved before.
She wasn't on hand to accept the award — obviously — but here's her acceptance speech thing nonetheless.
Other winners included Lorde (outstanding international achievement), while 'Blurred Lines' was awarded for international work of the year.
