Simon Cowell has denied rumours that he's been trying to get Beyoncé and Mariah Carey onboard for the next season of the US X Factor.
Talking to Extra, Cowell said he was as shocked as anyone by the claims that he'd offered Beyoncé $100 million a year to be a mentor on the show. "It's complete nonsense. No one's going to pay $100 million a year for someone," he said.
As for Mariah Carey, she is now officially "off the list" as Simon's worried she won't be able to commit. "You can't expect someone…with a record career to make the kind of commitment we would need on the show," he explained, in what may or may not have been a dig at erstwhile judge Nicole Scherzinger.
