After taking four years to make an EP, Beyoncé's sister Solange has promised that her new album will be out next year.
Chatting to Billboard about her new independent label set-up with Saint Records (which is distributed by Sony), she said: "I'm actually trying to give myself a deadline this time around. One of the pros of being independent is having that space and that time."
"But it’s also a major con when you don’t set aside a deadline and keep going and keep going," she continued, perhaps with reference to 'big sis'.
"When you have a goal in mind you definitely stay motivated. I’m trying to stay motivated because I know it took four years before my last record came out. That is not happening — it's gonna come out next year."
Tracks for the album have already been demoed and feature songwriting input from Sampha, someone from The Dirty Projectors (!) and that bloke from Chairlift (!!).
Seriously though can't someone just plonk her in the studio with the Freemasons.
