Music streaming service Spotify is to cut back on the availability of free content it provides to its users.
Non-subscribers will now only be able to listen to a song five times. The maximum monthly listening time will also be halved to just 10 hours.
So far, over one million users have signed up to Spotify's premium service. Chief content officer Ken Parks was keen to stress the importance the company still placed on the free service, however "we've got to balance a number of priorities. Chief amongst those priorities is to keep the free service, which is what makes Spotify unique, and what you're seeing here is a balance of these priorities".
CHEERS KEN.
The news of the cutbacks has not gone down well, with one user commenting: "So long Spotify. It was nice knowing you. Guess I'll go back to pirating music again then." What a dick.
