U2 are reportedly following in the footsteps of One Direction by employing the songwriting skills of Carl Falk on their new album.
Referencing a shift towards a poppier sound a 'source' explained: "will.i.am had a credit on ['No Line On The Horizon'] and they are looking to explore that direction further. They have been working with Dangermouse and RedOne. They are excited about getting to work with Carl Falk."
Falk, who has also written for such pop luminaries as Leon Jackson, AJ McLean and a whole Number One (!) album for Journey South, said: "There’s a long way to go but we are doing something with U2."
