Universal artist will.i.am has blamed Universal for the shitshow that has been Leanne Mitchell's single and album campaign.
"The record company should be freakin' embarrassed," the 'America's Song' hitmaker told the Radio Times (as quoted here). "Somebody should be held accountable."
The fact everyone on The Voice seemed to disown her probably didn't help, but there you have it.
"These singers are on television every week," he added. "So you've already accomplished things that stars don't accomplish."
Mitchell's debut single missed the Top 50, while her recently released album missed the Top 100, which i.am thinks is because the label waited so long to release it.
"Do you wait a year later? Somebody should get slapped because you waited too long," he concluded.
